Obituary of Jacob Ritz
Jacob A. Ritz, of Clifton, NJ passed away after a long illness on March 28, 2019 at age 71.
Born in Vineland, New Jersey on December 11, 1947 to J. Daniel and Laurette E. Ritz (Conover). Growing up on a farm in South Jersey. After graduating from Woodstown High School in 1966, he attended Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1968 and was stationed at the Great Lakes Navy Station. After that, he was stationed at the Defense Language Institute at the Presidio in Monterey, California. In 1969 he married Joan Benson and soon after, Jake was stationed in Rota, Spain for over 3 years.
In October 1973 he graduated from the University of Maryland European Division. Jacob graduated with honors in 1974 from the United States Naval Justice RPOC School with a degree in Military Justice and Administration. Jake was then stationed in Philadelphia, PA for another 3 years and was honorably discharged from military service in 1977.
After serving his country for eight years, he was employed at Label Graphics in NJ for over 35 years followed by Premier Printing in PA for 5 years. In May 2018 he was named to NJPEC Packaging Hall of Fame for his many accomplishments earned over his long and successful career.
Jake enjoyed fishing, hunting and Racquetball.
He was a loving partner, father, grandfather and great friend to everyone who knew him. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by daughters, Kristina Ritz- Alspach (spouse Jerry) of Coral Springs, Florida; Julie Klement (spouse Paul) of Eustis, Florida; his mother, Mrs. Laurette Ritz, Winona Lake, Indiana; his sister, Mrs. Laura Davis, Warsaw, Indiana; Four grandchildren: Jessica, Ashley, Samantha, Nikolas, two nephews, four grand nephews, two grand nieces. Jake is also survived by Lois, his partner of 20 years.
